Hiii!!! It's been a long time i have not written in this fabulous blog in which we are able to follow, more or less, how, each of us, is living after our erasmus time!!
As you know I went to Poland for meeting Danusia and Magda, for one week, in the late January :)
I arrived at Warsaw's airport on Monday, and Danusia was already waiting for me! Then we went at the train station for picking Magda up. We already were ready and talking about a lot of things :). And my (our hehe) dear polish friends had planned everything for my week!!! The hostel was booked for 2 nights, and was quite close to the old part of Warsaw!! And after those 2days 1/2, it was scheduled to head to Nusia's city: POZNAN!!
So we began by a visit of Warsaw, notably the Old Town, which was the most beautiful part of the city!! Except of that, the rest was not so different of what we can find in western Europe! Oh and it's important to point out the fact that they are rehabilitating the Old Town:

it's a pity that I arrived before the end of constructions, but it still was a very nice part of the city. Buildings are colorful, with a large part of pedestrian streets: it was really agreeable to spend time, strolling...

But it still is interesting to walk in the city and discover the polish Parliament, but also a big crossroads, where is the Statue of ... The General De Gaulle (just beside a Palm-tree)!!

And I discovered in this now that Polish have a kind of "admiration" for him, important french guy during the second WW and for the 5th French Republic... (by the way, if JB wants to speak about... just do it hehe).
We had the possibility to visit an exhibition about Einstein, with some explanations about his contribution for the Science. And in the same building (the Palace of the Culture and Science), we were able to head to the 30th floor ( 114 meters above the ground) and to have a magnificent view of Warsaw!!!

The funny thing is that a woman does that "travel" between floors in an elevator: every 2 minutes, more or less, she goes up and down... and on this purpose she has a stool, and a small fan... funny, but for sure tiring to do it, notably for ears (this elevator was amazingly fast...) I just hope she does not work like that for hours!!

The life in the capital is, like in all capitals, more expensive than in the rest of the country!! I realized that notably in restaurant which were between 15 and 20 % costlier than in Poznan, for instance!
One point was really disappointing for me: the life after 8pm!! Ok, I know that we were there in the beginning of the week, but i can assure that after 8pm, not so much people were in the streets!! And notably in the Old Town (maybe because of construction...

) streets were quite empty, nobody... just few bars opened, some of them without any customers... Once, we wanted to eat (it was 10pm) and only a fast food was open, almost nothing else...
After this few days in Warsaw, we packed and went to Poznan, Nusia's city, which is described by her as " a village " hehe. She has already talked about in a previous post, so I will not be too long about...
Personally I prefer Poznan than Warsaw!! Notably because of the way of life, and the architecture of this Town. I really was impressed by buildings in Poznan, in the old part, of course, but also around!! Churches and Cathedrals were also quite impressive, constructed with red bricks...

I am really fond of for the general Poznan's look!
Concerning the Old Tow, we can find some similarities with Warsaw, especially vis-à-vis of the look of buildings, their colors... even with a cloudy sky, this part of the city seems in a kind of " happiness"...

I had the pleasure to discover a polish night, in bars... with, first, nusia's sister and then with some friends of her! Great time spend there, and I can assure you, " wodka " is strong there, but sooooo sweet (Javi, we have to drink there together, really!!! Goliama vodka, david, u're welcome too :p)
Thanks to Nusia's sister (and mother for the car :) ) we went a whole day in Copernic's birth-town : Torun.
We could define this town by a color: red!!

Indeed buildings are most of them constructed with red bricks. Once again i had been surprised by the architecture of the City hall, the Cathedral (St John) and buildings in general...

We visited also ruins of a castle, and a planetarium (normal in Copernic's town,no? :) )
Well, that's more or less all I wanted to say about the Cities I visited with Magda and Nusia :) I spent there a very good time, as if we had not stopped to see each other between August and January!! Nice no?
I'll post another message later to speak about some funny things that happened there, and also my general point of you about Poland, polish, food and so on (take care girls, i might be... very bad hahahahaha).
Have fun, all of you, and see you soon !
